dakota is right. It's only athletes who can get in with shit grade and test scores (happened at my school. Only ED acceptance to Columbia was a top 5 fencer in the country. had a 3.1 GPA and like a 1900 SAT). Being a minority only helps if you're good enough in the first place.

Don't let people tell you that. I mean, they will take a black person over a white person in many cases,but that black berson has to still be QUALIFIED. For instance, Harvard is not going to take some 3.2 with 1600 SAT black person over a 3.8/3.9 2200 SAT white person. The only time where that choosing one over the other comes in is when you have a 3.8/3.9 GPA black with 2250 SAT and a 3.9/4.0 white person with 2290/2300 SAT. So when you hear that OHH ITS BC YOUR BLACK CRAP, make sure you respond with the fact that you're actually qualified as well.
