My interviewer failed to show up the first time, so we moved to an over-the-phone interview. It went well and there weren't any "Gotcha!" moments from him. Sure, I'd much rather attend Columbia for my masters, but it doesn't hurt to try for undergrad.

As competitive as any ivy, its great at journalism and that other type of stuff, not the traditional stuff, and it is great at engineering, but for bio/med, not as great. STill, i shoulda looked more into here, NYC wouldnt be bad either, but still, this woulda just been another rejection letter.

First choice by far. I have been connected to this school since I was christened in the chapel on campus when I was 7 months old. Would be disappointed anywhere else.
11/12/09- Interviewed. Went incredibly well, had a 1.5 hour conversation with an alum.
12/10/09- Deferred. Really stings. Hopefully I can get in but it's hard to be optimistic.

Wouldn't have gone if accepted at here and Duke. Columbia has no community feel to it and people just go off into the city on Friday nights to have fun, neglecting the campus. Plus when they are on campus, they shut up in their dorms and study. That is not what I want over four years.

Please note that I gave all my SATs (Including Subject Tests) when I was suffering from tuberculosis and my principal has issued a certificate stating so. Even my proctor has written to the University confirming that I could not sit for the full stipulated time.

Um, hello, NEW YORK CITY?? There's really no better place to spend my 4 years, although being so close to home is a bit of an "ugh." Their reputation in liberal arts cannot be beat, and I'd very much enjoy being educated by the Core. The campus is in the best area ever, plus it is extremely pretty and looks like the ideal college. Plus, swimming for gym might very well be the first time I enjoy gym class.
