I agree with you 100%. It was wrong of me to say race was just a skin color. I mean though that's kind of the defintion of "race," it's really more about the cultural background and history regarding people's ethnicities. My comment was primarily directed towards CAMPOSDA, and didn't encompass all of my views on the subject. I mean, it's the job of the college to admit or deny applicants, and I doubt many schools currently reject/accept students SOLELY on the basis of race. So ultimately, it's about the struggles and gains of the individual, not of the ethnicity.

frankly you are right and you have been through plenty..more then I can say. But plenty of people go through hardship just different kinds. Race of course matters a lot because of this country's history. Blacks, Hispanics, and Indians have all been marginalized for some time and the effect is still seen today i.e. make up most pop. in jail, less job rate, etc. I am black and I have been called the n- word in an offensive regard. Race is not just a skin color (I think you were naive to say that) but I agree colleges should take into account socioeconomic status-but they do. You should express your hardship in your app. and interview not on this site
