What are applicants saying?
No chance here...
Choice three but doesn't really matter because I know I will get rejected
March 9 2010
Sister went there
September 27 2009
No one has a 74.1% chance of getting into Yale! I've been to Yale and loved it but New Haven not so great...
February 22 2010
Not sure if it counts as legacy but I have lot of relatives (however not parents/grandparents) that have attended or worked at Yale. I listed it as legacy anyway because it brought my chances from 45.5% to 88.7%. Just a confidence booster haha
February 11 2010
Absolute Reach/Dream school. I can't fathom the fantasticness that is Yale's Theatre Department.
February 7 2010
for fun =]
January 29 2010
will be applying in the future
October 18 2009
My chance of admission is okay so I will apply but it will not be a big deal if I don't get in.
June 16 2009
Much of a reach for me, but I always had yale in the back of my mind through school

Big reach #2- Friend applied here and what the heck, I may as well try too.
January 12 2010
1st Choice! Got Deferred. Was expected. Dunno what the final outcome will be though.
January 10 2010
Applied with research
December 31 2009
Deferred under EA
December 29 2009
Visited twice; incredible. Would be disappointed anywhere else.
December 21 2009
I loved Yale. Family friends have told me it's quite snobby, and I tend to agree. Plus, they deferred some of the most amazing people I've ever met, so I KNOW I won't get in.
December 20 2009
Great art history and anthropology department. :)
December 15 2009
Sent in Art Supplement - portfolio
December 15 2009
I have a strong recommendation from the board of admissions
December 12 2009
visited, great grandfather and great great grandfather attended. apparently one of my ancestors was yale's president in the eighteenth century.
December 12 2009
Six people from my family have gone to Yale.
December 4 2009
I just can't resist Yale's allure. I love Connecticut and Yale's amazing departments (#1 in the country for French :D)
December 2 2009
I liked Yale, but didn't really like New Haven. My friends and friends of friends say it grows on you, and that's probably true. Everyone says the overall experience is by far the best, and better than H and P. The lack of a core curriculum is appealing. And, academically, it has few peers. I can't remember the last time someone from my school got into Yale, though.
November 27 2009
Still working on the application
October 1 2009
either this or stanford scea
August 13 2009
I am applying to Yale solely due to the campus visit. The most beautiful campus, the coolest people, but slightly less fitting for my desired major
July 6 2009
I am going to apply.
May 23 2009
Definitely my first choice!!
May 10 2009
At the moment appears to be my absolute favourite, I'd love proposals how I could increase my chances. Thanks a lot!
(funny thing, here I'm rated 12,7%, but at the Yale page itself I'm rated 62% .. very interesting ..)
February 15 2009
my sister attends Yale.
December 11 2008
Will be applying next year (senior year).
December 3 2008
My second choice. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Interview with scary, intimidatingly successful retired businesswoman, where I embarrassed myself by getting sauce on my face. ?: why do your predictions here get lower and lower for me? Rejection... Later- well, I guess I didn't get rejected. ;) I will pursue acceptance. You never know... Newest news: Just got an email saying that the ad coms have cut over 700 people off the wait list and I am one of the 50 kids left! Glad I ended up leaving myself on. I won't get in (they're still overenrolled), but it's still pretty cool. Update 1 million: Rejected via snail mail today, July 3. :(, but expected.
January 1 2010
Interviewed twice, on campus and alumni. For mychances analysis, prediction was originally rejection prior to the 2009 decisions came out. Now, it predicts acceptance.
June 22 2009
early action deferred then rejected
June 3 2009
Deferred EA, accepted RD
May 23 2009
So yea, I guess Yale doesn't take locals or people who take courses at their school. Seems reallllll logical to me.
May 7 2009
Yale, as an Ivy league school, has ridiculously amazing financial aid, so don't worry about whether or not you can afford the school, just worry about whether or not you can get in the school. I actually had an interview with a hot, young coastguard, so I was pretty fortunate with that. Just so you know, the predictor that they have in this site can be pretty inaccurate lol. There are just so many subjective factors into a college admittance decision that there is no way they can accurately foresee who makes it in.
April 11 2009
Definitely dream, Asian parents love the Ivy-ness. Yale is familiar with my school (hopefully good). In the end I chose to apply here instead of Harvard (also familiar). Interviewer was a transfer, arrived late to the interview, wasn't very interesting; but interviews don't matter in admissions. Made two silly grammar errors on my app!
April 10 2009
Regular decision.
April 9 2009
Brother attended
April 2 2009
Visited the campus and attended info session. I was amazed!
April 2 2009
My interview went very well. I know the alumni interviews don't account for much, but I really liked the guy and he basically told me he was going to write a good report. He said that he thought I had the kind of personality to make it at Yale and not explode the first year from stress. (:
April 2 2009
Shocked!!!! :$
April 1 2009
Hey, it's an Ivy League. What do you expect?
April 1 2009
IF YOU'RE NOT IN THE TOP 5 PEOPLE IN YOUR CLASS OR AN URM, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME APPLYING
April 1 2009
Interviewed twice actually (one on-campus interview and one alumni interview)
April 1 2009
First choice :( was hoping for better results after being deferred from the early round...
March 31 2009
Applied into Mech E.
March 31 2009
Interview went well.
March 31 2009
Interviewer asked me many questions and told me to elaborate on my activities which I did quite well. The interviewer liked my anecdotes and said that I could add diversity to the Yale community if accepted.
March 31 2009
Deferred Early Action.
March 31 2009
Online decision 3-31-09
March 31 2009
One of two schools I could send PSAT scores to. Mediocre on-campus interview during summer. Forgot to send extracurriculars that didn't fit on the common app during EA round; sent them in early January.
March 31 2009
Interviewed twice. Once on campus in the summer before my senior year, and once in my town by an alumni this winter. I don't know what the first interview was, my guess is just an interview for people who were possible applicants.

Was my dream school at first, but I'm glad I applied ED to Barnard instead. There is a lot of school spirit at Yale, but New Haven doesn't seem so great. Also, it's kind of an uber-reach.

January 17 2009
was on waiting list but rejected
June 24 2008
Be very proactive if you are waitlisted. It can really help as it did for me. Letters, recs, grade reports, maybe a visit and an alumni letter all made the difference. Good luck to those applying next year.
June 5 2008
Deferred Early Action
April 22 2008
Not surprised, originally a 45% chance when I applied.
April 6 2008
Great school to study political science! But I'm not crazy about New Haven... We'll see though, Yale is tops and it will be hard to turn down!
April 4 2008
deferred from EA...
April 3 2008

December 26 2006
This is without a doubt my first choice! I love everything about Yale. I think the residential college idea is ingenius and I can't imagine a better structure of social life. The campus is gorgeous, and New Haven is a thriving environment where I know I'd love to live. The classes seem so interesting and the shopping period will ensure that I'll enjoy what I'm taking. Yale is one of the top in the nation for the liberal arts and the experiences there would be priceless.
December 31 1969
Awesome school
December 31 1969
I have a shot with the music stuff, who knows.

December 31 1969
Not my first choice, but i'd laugh if I got in
December 31 1969
Three-hour interview about politics. Not fun! Great school though.
March 21 2007
I got into Yale as a recruited athlete, though i did well acadmeically once i got there (top 30% of my graduating class) so standardized test scores are not everything. :) I was hesitant about New Haven and the East Coast, but going to Yale was the best college decision i could have made.

Yale Blue is Pantone 289, in case you care. Of course, you don't. Also, the financial aid here is incredibly good.
August 12 2009
Choosing Yale was the best decision I've ever made. Of the top schools I've found Yale to have the best balance between work and play. By that I mean a strong focus on play, which is always a good thing.
