WAITLISTED 3-10: Dont really care, knew the 75% was bullshit, you should see what kinda kids get Wl'ed at Wash U, i know someone who got into Havard, yale and a likely from columbia who didnt get in. Its not over yet techinically, but i wont be at Wash U next yr i can tell you that.
They do retarted stuff w/ their decisions trying to protect yield, i think they call it tufts syndrome, but it is at an extreme here, nobody, and i mean nobody even kids who get into harvard, are any kinda sure thing here.
As for the school Ive heard lots of good things, but it does seem to privatey, as in they do their own thing completely(but its not like uchicago at all) and ive heard varying things about the social scene. I wont get in, 75% chance my ass, but even if i had wanted to, i would have to look here more, get the vibe that this a weird school , just the overall sense i got at an info session, really felt like the adcom was just trying to shove an education up our throats, but who knows? I know lots of people who really like this school, it is very underrated, i will say that, at least where im from
One other thing btw, i think they only do on campus visits, so you really do have to visit if your serious about going here, they track everything, but even still, i know lots of smart kids who show all the interest in the world and dont get in..........

Target: Pretty cool school out in the Midwest. Strong curriculum with a good location and strong reputation. I'd have to look in a bit more as my application is mostly based off said reputation.

I doubted I would get in here with my ACT score. Oh well. I don't really have any desire to go here....Brown is my top choice and I put most of my energy into that application. Still, Wash U had a nice campus.

Hands down first choice school. Amazing. I mean, these guys sent me Christmas cards! How awesome is that? I also got a free trip here. If I get rejected from such an incredible place, I'll die... Okay, no, I won't actually dies... my sister just told me that sounds suicidal... update: well, I'm not dead, and I didn't get in(waitlist limbo.) Dissapointing? You bet your *** it is. But I guess I'm moving on. Update2: and now my chances are 100%? Alert alert James and Brent, fix your algorithm!!!! ;) Last comment: Kicked off the waitlist yesterday. Don't care at all, surprisingly. Brown '13!

I thought I was a match. Somewhat unsurprised by the waitlist. I know they oftentimes waitlist students they think won't go to their school because of admittances to E. coast schools. Should have applied to Amherst/Williams instead. Will not pursue getting off the waitlist.
