I studied Mantled Howler monkeys on the island of Ometepe, Nicaragua the summer after my junior year. I believe this is what put me over the top at Brown.

Was deciding between Brown and Carnegie Mellon University. They were tied for #1 (along with MIT) on my list, and this was a very hard decision. However, I did not choose Brown for the name.

Top notch writing program and good political science major, and amazing, beautiful campus. Now possibly my favorite. Update: an admissions officer said the acceptance rate this year will be 8-9%! WTF? FML! Other angry acronyms!; update2- not alot of time to wait now. I'm excited, and afraid. I hope this little spark of hope doesn't get squashed.

I was interviewed by phone because no alumnis lived in my area. The interviewer said that my anecdotes were lively and I would definitely be a nice addition to Brown.

2400 definitely doesn't make up for nonperfect grades and mediocre ECs, I kind of wish I applied ED here though. Choosing between Harvard and Brown early on was tough, thought I had a chance in the RD round, but Brown would have probably deferred my ass now that I come to think of it
