Honestly, didn't want to come to this city filled with smog and corrupt corporations and terrible traffic. I don't want to come here because it is on the down slide for education as more and more southern California students want to go to USC or UCSD. In my opinion, I feel that they aren't going to be ranked any higher and aren't going to produce effective future leaders because the cream of the crop will go to the Claremont schools as well. The best engineers would go to Caltech. They don't know how to choose future leaders of the USA.

Received an email asking for supplemental info, which I did sent to them. However, I did not take the SAT subject tests and knew this would end up keeping me from admission if my grades did not. It's just that I decided on other schools and chose not to ultimately take the subject tests.

At my school, the UCLA applicants received one of two e-mails (or none). One asked for supplementary materials (I believe it was an essay, and kids at school speculated it was for applicants whose GPA was low but were still being considered) and the other was about a scholarship opportunity. I received the scholarship opportunity e-mail, but missed the deadline.
03/12/10 - Checked admission status website. Rejected.

This is a place i have some form of connection, grandma's sister is a professor there, but i doubt that would make a huge diff considering its more a relative and UCLAs also impossible to get into OOS, espec w/o a top gpa considering its a public school

Didn't think I would get in....sooo many people at my school had a higher GPA, rank, and test scores than me...but my essay was amazing and I had a lot of extracurriculars!!! yayyyyyy!!!! ucla was my first choice..goes to show they really do read your personal statements. make sure you do a good job on your essay. it really is a VERY important component of the app to ucla!! if it weren't for my essay, i probably wouldn't have gotten in...

3/18/09 - got in for pre business economics.
I essentially acted like a crazy person all day, constantly checking, with new conspiracy theories. It was pretty bad, but alls well ends well.

If I remember correctly, they sent me a letter accepting me into their engineer program really early in the app process. This was pretty cool to know that I was accepted early on.
