Request for Supplemental Information

I just received an email from UCLA giving me the chance to fill out a supplemental questionaire by 2-9-2010. Anyone know why I would have received such an email? Does it mean anything?

Supposedly UC Berkeley has a holistic approach to the application process, whereas UCLA has a "by the numbers"-approach. Considering what I know and I have heard (not that anecdotal evidence means anything), it makes sense.

UCLA has gotten harder to get into over the past few years than Berkeley. Cal's average entering GPA is 4.15 compared to UCLA's 4.16, according to official admission statistics.
