If you apply engineering, it will definitely hurt your chances. Berkeley Engineering is very competitive.
However, arts and sciences majors won't hurt your chances.

I don't think so, unfortunately. I got an email inviting me to apply for that scholarship even though I am a borderline "augmented review" student.

If you recieve an email that recommends you apply to a leadership scholarship offered by alumni of the university, does this mean they are favoring you?
