A better than 50% shot? Lol, what bullshit. Cutthroat environment there for bio people scared me though, considering everybody there applies for science, your chances really go waay up if you dont, just my advice to anybody reading this. I also showed absolutely no interest, no campus visit, no interview, nothing, didnt talk to my regional officer either,

I think I wrote a pretty damn good essay, if you don't mind me saying. The supplemental essay that is, not the Common App one, though my Common App essay was pretty good too.

Both paternal grandparents attended (school of nursing, dermatology residency, fellowship) and are continued donors; grandmother was first person from her country (Trinidad) to graduate from there.

Declined offer of admission. I thought I would like it here, but, after visiting, I realized that the school's focus (medicine and research) was not mine. Kind of sad it didn't work out.

I was shocked. But three factors: low(er) GPA, low SAT Science scores (570 and 530, I applied for Biology), and three errors in short answers or essays. Oh well.

LOVE THIS PLACE. I took pre-college there in summer '06. I've lived 10 minutes from it my whole life. It wasn't the place I really wanted to go in the end though. I did toy with the idea of applying early. Its really amazing but really competitive in a nasty way as well.
